An extremely popular tourist attraction, Asia gives a glance into one of the richest histories and cultures. If truth be told, some of the greatest wonders of this world are found in the borders of this large continent only. If you are travelling into Asia, the first stop you may encounter is the Great Wall of China. It is made up of stone and earth, extends to nearly 2,414 km (1,500 miles) and is about 25 feet high. It has been said that this amazing wall is visible from the outer space also. The Wall was erected by Shihuangdi, the first emperor of the Qin dynasty, in order to protect the city from nomadic people. Another travel worthy Asian spot is the Terra cotta Warriors & Soldiers Museum located in Xi’an, China. The museum has been considered as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world.
The Palace Museum located in Beijing, formerly known as the Forbidden City, is also a must in the list of an Asian traveller. It is an enclosed place that holds the palaces of ancient Chinese emperors. Adjacent to the Palace Museum is the Tiananmen Square, which is an eyewitness of the 1989 rallies and demonstrations led by students aimed at removing Deng Xiaoping. The Square stands as a memorial of all those lives which were sacrificed at that time. People travelling to Asia will also not want to miss to visit Dunhang, in which you can find the earliest Buddhist frescoes within the caves. Angkor is on of the ancient wonders in the world situated in the north-western Cambodian parts. It is the ruins of two ancient Hindi temples, Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat. Although the place is almost totally damaged by the warfare, the Asian traveller may still have a feeling of ancient spirits living in the place.
Now come the Taj Mahal, the ancient tourist site that has attracted billions of travellers into the midst of Asia. Located in India, Agra, the mausoleum was built by Shah Jahan, the ancient Mughal emperor, in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who had died during child birth after delivering him 14 children. One of the most popular travel spots in Asia is the Temple of Reclining Buddha or the Wat Pho and the Temple of Emerald Buddha or the Wat Phra Kaeo, located in Bangkok Thailand. The later one is an example of best architecture built in the 19th century. The Buddhist temple of Sanam Luang is also worth seeing, in which the royal ceremonials like cremations and the Ploughing ceremony are held every year.
You must also visit the zoo, Dusit Park and Chitladda Palace, in which the regal family resides. Various art-houses like the National Theatre, National Museum, Rajadamnoen Stadium, National Gallery, National Archives and the National Library are also worth visiting in Bangkok. The resorts and beaches of Philippines can challenge any of those in the world. For instance, Boracay is famous for the white sand beaches and the crystal clear waters. You can not also afford to miss out on the famous Chocolate and Tarsier Hills on the island of Palawan. Of course, Ifugao Rice terraces are among the top ten wonders in the world, and you should also not fail to see the Strawberry fields and the Mines View Park in Baguio.
When a traveller visits Asia, he or she finds an altered world opened up for exploring. The sounds and sites of this continent may educate and enlighten individuals.
